Mike Tyson Offers To Help Ngannou Beat Fury
Mike Tyson is open to the idea of helping Francis Ngannou prepare for his boxing debut on October 28th, 2023, against Tyson Fury.
Ngannou will make his boxing debut in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in a fight where the odds are against him.
Naturally, the former UFC heavyweight champion is keen on enlisting all the help he can get to pull off one of the biggest upsets in the sport.
As a result, Ngannou discussed the possibility of getting ‘Iron Mike’ on his side to give the best possible account of himself.
“I think getting some advice or some training from Mike Tyson would be good. I also think of somebody like Lennox Lewis who could be good.
“I love his boxing style, very basic but very sharp and efficient. One-two [punches], all that stuff, classic but very good,” Ngannou
Tyson is a former undisputed heavyweight champion, which is why having him on board would prove beneficial. However, Tyson is not known for being a super trainer.
In addition, given Ngannou’s limited boxing skills, the probability of transforming his boxing IQ is low. However, ‘Iron Mike’ was receptive to the idea of working with Ngannou.
“I’d like to do that, that’d be cool. I’d like that, yeah. I’d like that. Fury, he punches long. So, when he punches long, you got those short punches inside. When he throws around, watch—you gotta be ready. Boom, hard punch to the body,” Tyson
