Amir Tyson, son of former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson (50-7, 44 KOs), has signed a multi-fight deal with Misfits Boxing and is preparing to make his boxing debut at the age of 29.
No opponent has yet been announced, although Amir said he plans to begin with several fights before eventually targeting Misfits heavyweight champion Chase DeMoor.
At the announcement in Miami, Amir called out DeMoor and said he wants to earn three victories before challenging him for the title. The exchange led to a heated face-off near the ring that required security to separate them.
Amir has no previous professional fighting experience. He has worked as a combat sports commentator and entrepreneur while remaining involved around boxing throughout his life.
Mike Tyson has previously discouraged his son from pursuing a boxing career, warning Amir about the physical and mental pressures that come with professional fighting.
