Garcia has been making his way around weight divisions between 2013 and 2018, winning championships at featherweight, super featherweight, lightweight and super lightweight.
He was last in action in March, losing to Errol Spence Jr. in a pay-per-view IBF welterweight title fight. It was the first loss Garcia has suffered in 40 fights as a pro.
According to Coppinger, Hearn and DAZN have been aggressive in getting after Garcia because of his drawing power. His fight with Spence broke the 300,000-buy mark.
Mikey Garcia has proven to be a needle-mover, which is why DAZN and Hearn have coveted him for so long. His FOX PPV vs. Spence drew over 300,000 buys and outperformed Spence-Porter. Mikey also delivered strong ratings for Showtime and is a proven ticket-seller in L.A., and Texas https://t.co/DnR1rVzBIc
