Miller Ready For ‘Inevitable’ Fight Against Fury
In a new home and with a new lease on life, Jarrell Miller is hoping for new opportunities to complete the trifecta.
“Big Baby” signed a promotional agreement with Top Rank after a stint with Matchroom Boxing. Joining a number of talented heavyweights, Miller (23-0-1) has eyes on the lineal and WBC Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury. Although he hasn’t had a fight since beating Bogdan Dinu in 2018, Miller see’s himself as a hot commodity. Speaking with Sky Sports, the 31-year-old stated it is inevitable that he will fight Fury.
“I think it is. I think that they were talking about it after Fury fighting Wilder again,” Miller stated. “I was supposed to be the co-main event for that fight. I was supposed to be the co-main event for the last fight. I think that will be definitely in the future.”
Miller was supposed to face Anthony Joshua for the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO Heavyweight Titles in June 2019. He failed three separate drug tests prior to the fight, forcing him out of action for a while. Suspended six months by the WBA, Miller has been fighting his way back to the top by any means necessary.
Fury is coming off of a huge win against Deontay Wilder back in February. The two are scheduled for a trilogy fight, unless Miller has something to say about it. He looks at the Wilder fight as something of an easy win for Fury. In fact, he believes he could dish more damage to Wilder.
“For me as a smaller guy, or the shorter guy, I would be on his chest all night, the exact same way, even worse,” Miller stated when talking about Wilder. “I let my combinations go a lot better than these guys.”
Top Rank president Todd DuBoef mentioned that Miller is a top contender for Fury, and the champion is interested. Miller is looking for redemption. Can you see him getting it in the form of a title fight against one of boxing’s best?
