Miller-Shields Return On Nov. 17, Moved To Kansas

Jarrell Miller and Claressa Shields were both set to return to action next month, on Friday both fighters were confirmed for the same card, but in a new location.

Miller was originally going to face Fres Oquendo for the vacant WBA “regular” world heavyweight title, now he is rumored to face Bogdan Dinu in the main event of the card moved from Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, to the Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, Kansas.

While Claressa Shields will put her middleweight championships on the line against Scottish fighter Hannah Rankin, who last was seen in August losing to WBA super-middleweight champion Alicia Napoleon.

Also, on the November 17th card, Brandon Rios will square off with the older brother of middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez, Ramon Alvarez.

“Kansas is going to be wild!” said Eddie Hearn. “It’s another stacked card topped by Jarrell Miller who is making a real charge in the Heavyweight division. There is an all Mexican war between Kansas own Brandon Rios and Canelo brother Ramone. Luis Arias and Gabe Rosado go to battle with a potential World Middleweight title shot on the line.

“Off the back of huge network ratings, Claressa Shields defends her World titles against tough Scot Hannah Rankin. Kansas hero Nico Hernandez defends his title and three-weight World champ Ricky Burns also stars. This arena is going to fill up quick and we look forward to another stacked card on DAZN.”
