Mitrione vs. Kharitonov 2 on Aug. 24

Matt Mitrione and Sergei Kharitonov will run it back on August 24, as they will meet in the headliner of a Bellator card at the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

The two met in the main event of Bellator 215, which took place in nearby Uncasville in February, but the fight lasted just 15 seconds. An accidental groin kick by Mitrione left Kharitonov unable to continue.

Prior to the fight with Kharitonov, Mitrione competed in the Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix, defeating Roy “Big Country” Nelson at Bellator 194 before losing to eventual tournament champ Ryan Bader at Bellator 207.

Kharitonov is 5-0 (2 NC) in his last seven fights. Before the first fight with Mitrione, Kharitonov defeated Nelson at Bellator 207.
