Miyo Strong To Make MMA Debut To Raise Funds For Women’s Self Defense

BJJ World Master Champion Miyo Strong will fight in the Fierce Fighting Championship XVII on October 29 to mark her pro MMA debut.

The BJJ ace will donate her earnings to The Elizabeth Smart Foundation that fights against sexual violence and helps women learn how to defend themselves.

Strong has been an advocate for raising awareness for sexual violence prevention and equal representation for women.

She wants to raise at least $15, 000 to $20,000 from the fight night. The ticket sales for the night will also be donated to the foundation.

The other reason Strong decided to enter the octagon is to prove how it’s never too late to achieve a dream. People can buy tickets at axs.com under mixed martial arts or reach out to Miyo Strong on her social media handles for donations.

Apart from herself, Strong will represent The Pitt, Unified Jiu Jitsu, Atlas, and Smart Defense.

The event will be held at the Maverik Center. The venue will open for the in-house crowd at 5 pm and prelims will begin at 6 pm.
