Mark Anthony Gonzales, a trained MMA fighter, has sent social media in a frenzy after a video of him helping a cop in San Antonio arrest a suspect went viral.
In the video, the policeman could be seen struggling to put the handcuffs on the suspect. The accused man was resisting while being on the ground and that’s when Gonzales jumped in to keep him down. Gonzalez’s wife recorded the footage.

In an interview, the Brazilian jiu-jitsu trainee said that the suspect was going for the officer’s gun.
“I was able to calmly pry his fingers away from the weapon and in the video you hear me telling the officer, ‘I got it, go ahead,’” he said.
“I had no relationship with law enforcement, or with the system,” he added. “I despised it because of what I’ve gone through, but that’s not me as a person. I still went out of my way because I knew it was the right thing to do.”
This is not the first time an MMA fighter intervened in a public scene to help out.
In 2018, UFC legend Matt Serra’s video went viral where he subdued a fellow customer in a restaurant who was allegedly harassing a waitress. The MMA legend was there for a family dinner.
