Modestas Bukauskas Reportedly Cut From The UFC

Modestas Bukaukas has parted ways with the UFC.

Bukaukas (11-5) was released from his contract with the promotion following three consecutive losses.

The Lithuanian fighter has been dubbed a knockout artist.

He signed with the UFC and earned a first-round TKO victory in his debut. However, things did not go as he planned in his next contests.

His last bout was especially brutal when he received lots of damage. His rival, Khalil Rountree Jr., landed a huge oblique kick. He could not continue the battle.

Bukaukas is only 27 years old and was optimistic about that situation, even announcing that he would come back even stronger.

“I definitely feel I’m UFC caliber and I’m ready to go on and put on a show,” he previously said. “I’ve learned my lessons and I’ve learned the things I need to correct.”

But now he is a free agent. He won the Cage Warriors light heavyweight title in 2019 and successfully defended it once before signing with the UFC. He was also previously on a seven-fight winning streak.
