Moraes Pulled From ONE Championship Title Defense
Adriano Moraes won’t be defending his ONE Championship title in March.
The flyweight champion was scheduled to defend his title against Reece McLaren in the main event of March 9th’s ONE: Visions of Victory. According to a report from MMA Fighting, Moraes has been forced out of the bout due to a knee injury.
Moraes recaptured the flyweight title in August 2017 when he defeated Kairat Akhmetov via unanimous decision, and followed it up with a successful defense against Danny Kingad three months later.
ONE Championship needed to create an interim title in January, when Moraes turned down a chance to fight, with Geje Eustaquio claiming it by defeating former champion Akhmetov.
There has yet to be an official announcement from ONE Championship, nor has there been any information regarding a new opponent for McLaren on March 9th.
