Mousasi Gets Revenge on Hall

When they first met in Sept. 2015, Uriah Hall scored an upset, knocking out Gegard Mousasi in the second round of a fight where Mousasi made multiple submission attempts in the first. Since then, Hall has not won a single bout, while Mousasi came into their rematch earlier today at UFC Fight Night in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

And on this day, Mousasi got the ultimate revenge, knocking out Hall in the first round.

Unlike their first encounter, Mousasi entered the first round at a slow pace, and neither man was able to land any significant strikes at the start. Mousasi landed the first hard shot of the bout, but Hall followed it up with a hard spinning kick. Mousasi eventually scored a takedown on Hall, and then relentlessly and without mercy, hammered right hand shot after right hand shot onto the head of Hall.

The referee had seen enough already at that point and called a stop to the bout 4:37 in.

Following the bout, Mousasi stated he wants to get into the title picture in his next bout. He wants either a shot at the UFC middleweight title, or he wants to at least compete in an eliminator bout.
