MTK Fight Night: McComb Vs. Godoy Results

It has only been a month into 2020 and already there have been crazy moments in the combat sports world. MTK Global will look to add onto that as MTK Fight Night will make its 2020 premier on ESPN+. Taking place inside Ulster Hall in Belfast, Northern Ireland, #MTKFightNight features a super lightweight bout featuring Sean McComb v. Mauro Maximiliano Godoy.

The 27-year-old McComb (9-0) last fought in October, beating Emiliano Dominguez Rodriguez via points decision. This will be his eighth fighting appearance in Belfast, and his fourth time fighting inside the legendary Ulster Park. Going 4-0 in 2019, McComb will look to put on a show for his hometown crowd.

This will be the first true test of McComb’s young career, as he faces a true veteran in Godoy (32-5-1), a man with seventeen wins via KO. The 30-yea-old last fought in November, beating Tackie Annan via TKO. It was a rebound win following his TKO loss to Zhankosh Turarov back in July. Currently 2-2-1 in his last five, Godoy will look to make it 2-0 while stopping the momentum of McComb.

Opening up the card on ESPN+at 3 p.m. ET will be Lee Haskins facing David Oliver Joyce for the vacant WBO European Featherweight Title. As FIGHT SPORTS has previewed earlier this week, this matchup is a battle of two fighters in different directions. Joyce (11-1) is coming off of his first loss to Leigh Wood via TKO. The multi-time European Union Championships gold medalist has eight wins via KO. The 37-year-old Haskins (36-4) is on a two-fight win streak following a two-year absence from the ring. A Former IBF bantamweight Champion, Haskins is unsure when is last bout will be, but he is looking forward to making the most of this opportunity agianst the young gun.
