Munguia’s Future Uncertain

Jaime Munguia retained his 154-pound title on Saturday night and many thought this would be his last time at light-middleweight.

Yet, it seems the 22-year-old world champion enjoyed the limelight on September 14th inside Dignity Sports Park in Carson, California when he defeated Patrick Allotey.

“The journey getting here was hard, but I feel really good with these people who came to support me,” Munguia said after the fight.

“”This is Mexican Independence Day, and I feel really good and I’m ready to (accomplish) more and go further in my career.”

“I don’t know if this is my last fight at 154 pounds,” admitted Munguia. “I need to talk with my promoters Golden Boy and Zanfer.

“I need to talk to my team and then we’ll decide.”
