Musk Supports Gina Carano’s Legal Action Against Disney Over Unfair Dismissal From The Mandalorian

Gina Carano, actress and former MMA fighter, has issued a lawsuit against Disney and Lucasfilm, citing discrimination and wrongful dismissal after being fired from The Mandalorian.

Carano filed the lawsuit on February 6 in a California federal court. The lawsuit claimed she was dismissed for expressing her ‘right-wing’ views on social media. The actress states Disney/Lucasfilm harassed her for her views on Black Lives Matter, gender pronouns, and for protesting against COVID-19 mandates. Carano claims Disney/Lucasfilm overlooked their male co-stars, who were also vocal on social media. Lucasfilm announced her departure in 2021 as they disapproved of her social media views, as shown below.

“Her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable,” Lucasfilm said

Carano aims to force Lucasfilm to recast her in the show where she played Cara Dune in the first two seasons.

“Some of us have been unjustly singled out, harassed, persecuted and had our livelihoods stripped away because we dared to encourage conversation, asked questions, and refused to go along with the mob. I am honored that my case has been chosen to be supported by the company [X] that has been one of the last glimmers of hope for free speech in the world,” Carano said

Elon Musk has backed Carano and has promised to pay the legal fees for those who have been ‘discriminated’ against for airing their views on his platform X.
