Naidan Earns Spot In 2020 Olympics

For the first time in three years, Naidan Tuvshinbyar won a gold medal in IJF competition, with a win at the Hohot Grand Prix.

In his victory over former Junior world champion and fellow Mongolian, Ulziibayar Duurenbayar, Tuvshinbyar would win his first title since 2015, by throwing Ulziibayar with an ippon seoi-nage for gold.

In his path to a birth at the 2020 Olympic games in Tokyo, Tuvshinbyar would stop Oltiboev Bekmurod with a ura-nage for ippon to move into the heavyweight final. Duurenbayar’s path to the finals was set when former Olympic bronze medalist Rafael Silva, was disqualified for three shidos against Ulziibayar Duurenbayar (MGL).
