Naoya Inoue, Nonito Donaire Make Weight For Tomorrow’s Anticipated Rematch

It’s just one day until Naoya Inoue and Nonito Donaire meet again in the ring.

Inoue successfully weighed in for the three-belt bantamweight unification fight at 117.9 pounds while Donaire came in at 117.7 pounds. Their anticipated rematch will take place around 10:30 p.m. local time in Saitama, Japan, which 10:30 a.m. ET in the U.S.

They will meet for the first time since their brutal 12-round super fight in November 2019, which also happened in Saitama, Japan.

Inoue (22-0, 19 KOs) had unified the IBF and WBA titles after edging Donaire to a unanimous decision win at the finals of the World Boxing Super Series Bantamweight Tournament.

Donaire bounced back from the loss by overcoming former undefeated Nordine Oubaali within four rounds last May 29. The win put Donaire into his third bantamweight title reign.

He defended that belt with a fourth-round knockout of former interim WBC titleholder Reymart Gaballo last December 11.

Inoue fought three more times after beating Donaire, all of whom he overcame by knockout or technical knockout. His last three wins were against Aran Dipaen, Michael Dasmarinas and Jason Moloney.

The rematch will air on ESPN+.
