Naoya Inoue Vs. Junto Nakatani Announced

Undisputed Super Bantamweight Champion Naoya Inoue will box Junto Nakatani on May 2 at the Tokyo Dome.

Inoue (32-0) defeated David Picasso last December and defended his titles four times in 2025. Meanwhile, ex-unified bantamweight champion Nakatani (32-0) secured a unanimous decision win over Sebastian Hernandez in his last fight. That was Nakatani’s first fight at super bantamweight. Following their last fights, the two expressed a desire to box each other. Now, the bout has been confirmed.

“May 2 will be a historic day for boxing. But in terms of my boxing career, I have to think of it as just a point on the way,” said the 32-year-old, who has a 32-0 record, with 27 wins by knockout. “I will prepare for the fight with that mindset,” Inoue
