Naoya Inoue Vs. Junto Nakatani Confirmed For May In Tokyo
Naoya Inoue vs. Junto Nakatani is a done deal and set for May 2nd at the Tokyo Dome.
Inoue (32-0) most recently squared off with David Picasso last December and successfully defended his status as the undisputed super bantamweight champion with a standout performance. On the same card, the former unified bantamweight champion Nakatani (32-0) faced Sebastian Hernandez at 122-pounds in the co-main event and delivered a noteworthy display of skill and entertainment while taking the unanimous judges’ decision.
Immediately after the event, everyone was expecting a showdown between Inoue and Nakatani to materialize fairly quickly. Ring Magazine’s Mike Coppinger reported the details via X.com earlier today and referred to this as the ‘biggest fight in Japanese history’, which is quite accurate. The fight has now been confirmed.
