Nate Diaz And Jorge Masvidal Square Off In NYC Ahead Of June Boxing Match

Prepared to fight on June 1st for the second time in their lengthy combat sports careers, Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal squared off Tuesday evening in New York, on another stop of their pre fight press tour.

The pair first went to war at UFC 244 in 2019 for the BMF title. While Masvidal came away the victor after a 3rd round stoppage, the fact that the fight was ended due to a cut on Diaz left fans wanting more. This Summer, for those in attendance inside the KIA Forum in Inglewood, CA, they will get just that, when the inaugural BMF competitors run it back in 10-rounds of professional boxing action.

Following their first press conference last Friday in Las Vegas, Diaz and Masvidal came together once again, and we even saw some familiar Nate Diaz antics.

In fashion true to himself, Diaz took the time for a quick smoke break during the live show. At this point, knowing Diaz’s history, this is not a shocking move, as he previously pulled this in the buildup for UFC 263 back in 2021.

Nevertheless, many are fans of the Stockton, CA, native for this type of relaxed attitude towards the fight game and are happy to still see it on display.

While Diaz squared off in the boxing ring last year with Jake Paul, we have yet to see “Gamebred” cross over to the sport since his MMA retirement. Clearly, he has been busy promoting events with his newly formed company Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA, but as a result some question how hard he is training, and his commitment to active competition.

Presented by Fanmio, the event will be co-promoted by Diaz’s promotion, Real Fight Inc., and Masvidal’s Gamebred Boxing.
