Nate Diaz Negotiating With UFC For Return

In a story first reported by ESPN, Nate Diaz has been presented with a list of potential opponents for a fight this summer.

Diaz, who wants to be on the card for UFC’s return to Los Angeles, UFC 227 on August 4th, has found at least one opponent on the list interesting him for his return fight.

Eddie Alvarez is the most likely person, who’d he’d be facing if the deal went through, as other top opponents such as Khabib Nurmagomedov, Conor McGregor,  Tony Ferguson, and Kevin Lee have issues precluding them from an August return.

“He’s not just looking for Conor,” Diaz’s long-time training partner Jake Shields said on Monday’s episode of “The MMA Hour.”

“He’s looking for a fight that makes sense and that’s going to give him a big payday and a lot of hype.”

Diaz’ last fight was a loss to Conor McGregor at UFC 202 in August 2016, with only rumors of a fight with welterweight champion Tyron Woodley never reaching past the conversation stage.
