Nate Diaz Reacts To Possible Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier Rematch
Nate Diaz has kept his response to a possible rematch between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier short but sweet.
McGregor and Poirier have expressed interest in sharing the Octagon a second time. The two had their first encounter back on September 27, 2014. It was a bout that saw the “Notorious” one emerge victorious. McGregor won the fight via first-round TKO.
McGregor proposed an exhibition bout with Poirier outside of the UFC. The former UFC “champ-champ” suggested that the proceeds go to charity. The UFC ended up offering both men the fight but McGregor says he will donate $500,000 to Poirier’s The Good Fight Foundation.
Diaz has responded to the possible rematch and he wasn’t exactly giving props to either man.

“Let’s don’t get it twisted I already smoked these 2 now they play fighting.”
Diaz has had two bouts with McGregor. The Stockton native won his first encounter with the “Notorious” one via second-round rear-naked choke. In the rematch, McGregor nabbed the majority decision victory. While the two have teased fighting a third time, that has yet to come to fruition.
McGregor had a bout back in January. He took on Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in the main event of UFC 246. The action was held inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the end, it was McGregor who scored the TKO victory in just 40 seconds.
As for Poirier, he’s coming off a “Fight of the Year” candidate. Back on June 27, Poirier defeated Dan Hooker via unanimous decision.
Diaz hasn’t competed since November 2019. He took on Jorge Masvidal for the BMF Championship. The bout headlined UFC 244 inside Madison Square Garden in New York City. Masvidal won the fight via third-round TKO due to a doctor’s stoppage.
