Nate Diaz has dismissed any speculation about him pursuing MMA outside of UFC.
Diaz left the UFC following his submission win against Tony Ferguson at UFC 279. And now he is set to go ahead in a crossover event featuring Jake Paul, as the pair lock horns in a boxing ring on August 5th, 2023.
In addition, Paul has expressed interest in fighting Diaz in the octagon. However, this would be under the PFL. And yet, any chances of Diaz leaving the UFC have been dismissed.
“That’s an option, the UFC. Ideally, I wanna go back and fight for a world title. If not, I’m gonna have to make my own world title and make the best come to me.
“But I would like to be back in the UFC… No (possibility of joining the PFL or ONE Championship). Right now, the UFC’s got the best MMA fighters in the world, and have for years. I’m trying to fight the best,” Diaz
Diaz does have some unfinished business. His rivalry with Conor McGregor stands at 1-1 after the Irishmen got his revenge on Diaz, who had inflicted the first defeat of his career.
And given the attention that the fights had generated, there may be one more chance for Diaz to face the ‘Notorious.’
