Nelson-Jouban Set for UFC London

After nearly a year away from the Octagon, top-10 welterweight Gunnar Nelson will make his return in the co-main event of next month’s UFC London card. The jiu-jitsu black-belt will take on rising welterweight Alan Jouban on the card, the promotion announced on Tuesday.

Nelson (15-2-1) has been competing under the UFC banner for five years, amassing a 6-2 record in the Octagon. Though he has alternated between wins and losses in his last few bouts, Nelson has maintained a Top 10 ranking in the UFC welterweight division.

Though Jouban (15-4) has only been on the UFC roster for three years, his record inside the Octagon is the same 6-2 as Nelson. He is currently on a three-fight winning streak, last beating hot prospect Mike Perry at UFC on FOX: Sacramento in December.

The UFC’s return to London features a five-round light heavyweight headliner pitting Londoner Jimi Manuwa against Corey Anderson.
