Nevada Assigns Judges And Officials For UFC 239

On Wednesday, the Nevada State Athletic Commission announced who will act as the referees and judges for UFC 239’s main and co-main events.

Herb Dean will return to the Octagon, as he will act as the referee for Jon Jones’ light heavyweight title defense against Thiago Santos on July 6th, while Derek Cleary, Mike Bell, and Junichiro Kamijo will act as the fight’s judges.

Regarding Jones’ status for July 6th at the T-Mobile Arena, NSAC has granted him a full fight license that will be in effect until the end of 2019, with a review to follow in 2020.

This comes after Jones was granted a one-fight license for his return to Nevada at UFC 235, after his UFC 232 fight with Alexander Gustafsson was moved from Nevada to Los Angeles after Jones was not cleared to compete due to his issues with picograms of Turinabol showing up in his system.

Marc Goddard will act as the referee for Amanda Nunes bantamweight title defense against Holly Holm, as Sal D’amato, Chris Lee and Dave Hagen will act as the judges.
