New “50 Cent” Produced Boxing Series Premieres Today

A new gritty 8-episode boxing series produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and set in the U.K., titled “Fightland” premieres on STARZ today.

The story follows Duke Kilroy, (portrayed by English actor Howard Charles) a former heavyweight champion who returns to London after eight years in a Nevada prison to avenge his brother’s death. Kilroy targets former promoter and crime figure Kingsley Marshall (Nicholas Pinnock), the man he believes orchestrated his downfall — but Marshall has disappeared, leaving behind his wife Joy (Deborah Ayorinde), who shares a complicated history with Duke.

To take down the operation he holds responsible, Duke must infiltrate a cartel fighting for control of London’s drug trade. The cast also includes Anita-Joy Uwajeh, Charles Babalola, Tahirah Sharif, Tyler Conti and Richard Pepple.

“50 Cent” says he likemed the main character to real-life acclaimed fighters. Here’s a look at the trailer for “Fightland”
