New ‘Everybody Hates’ Docuseries Featuring Polarizing Athletes Floyd Mayweather, Jake Paul and Aaron Rodgers Set for Release
Vice TV’s new six-part sports docuseries, ‘Everybody Hates’, which premieres on October 27, will examine the careers and controversies of Floyd Mayweather Jr., Jake Paul, Aaron Rodgers among other polarizing sports figures.
The show will pull the curtain back on the athletes, and will explore how they became people that millions hate, millions love and almost everybody has an opinion on.
The opening episode will focus on Paul (12-2, 7 KOs), the YouTuber whose transition into professional boxing made him one of the sport’s most controversial figures. Paul was knocked out by former two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in his most recent boxing appearance, suffering a double fractured jaw. The episode will explore his rise from internet celebrity to professional fighter and the public reaction to his career.
The series concludes on December 1 with Mayweather (50-0, 27 KOs). His episode examines the undefeated former five-division champion’s boxing achievements, business empire, wealth and controversies outside the ring. Former boxer John ‘Iceman’ Scully and boxing broadcaster Crystina Poncher are among the contributors.
Other episodes will feature NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers, former NFL quarterback Michael Vick, WNBA star Caitlin Clark and soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo.
“The biggest stories in sports are often the ones everyone thinks they already know,” Vice TV president Pete Gaffney said. “Today’s athletes are judged in real time, often before the full story is understood.”
Everybody Hates will air weekly on Vice TV at 9 p.m. ET, with select episodes becoming available on the network’s YouTube channel the following day.
