New Invicta Champ Gives Message to UFC

Megan Anderson managed to defeat Charmaine Tweet via second-round TKO in the main event of Invicta FC 21 to win the interim featherweight championship.

And she wasted little time in calling her shots — calling out the winner of the inaugural UFC women’s featherweight championship fight at UFC 208.

"Dana White, you tell Holly or Germaine to keep my belt warm, because I’m [expletive] coming for it," Anderson said following the bout.

Anderson controlled the pace from the beginning of the bout, utilizing combinations and forcing Tweet to clinch up. Tweet, however, did show off offensive prowess of her own, throwing a spinning backfist and starting to accelerate her aggression later on in the first round. Tweet nearly got a choke submission in the closing moments of the first round.

The second round, however, saw Anderson in domination once again. A head kick forced Tweet back to the cage fence, and Anderson continued to land blows, stunning Tweet and working the ground-and-pound until this bout is called off, giving Anderson the interim championship.
