New School Vs. Old School: Greg Hardy Will Face Alexey Oleynik In January

Another match-up has been added to the UFC Fight Night card on January 22.

Alexey (Alexey) Oleynik (59-16-1) and Greg Hardy (7-4) will share the octagon in a potential three-round heavyweight battle.

Hardy is taking one of his last chances in the promotion.

He started MMA at the age of 30. He was a professional American football player prior, playing on the Carolina Panthers.

Six out of seven of his victories are via KO or TKO. However, he is on a two-fight losing streak, both via TKO/KO, so it is one of his last chances.

Oleinik is one of the most experienced fighters of the promotion with the brutal ground game. While Hardy had only 12 UFC fights in his career, he has experience of fighting 76 times.

The Russian has 46 submission victories, most of which have different and very rear submissions like Ezekiel Choke or scarf hold.

However, he is on a three-fight losing streak, and is already 44 years old. Fighting 76 times and being in an age leaves traces on the fighter.
But unlike his rival, he already shared the octagon with the best fighters and witnessed almost every old and new generation fighter.

The winner will earn the opportunity to stay in the promotion, but the loser will most likely leave the UFC.
