New UFC Champion Leon Edwards Welcomed Home

After a knockout win for Leon Edwards in his bout against Kamaru Usman, he took the welterweight title to his home in England.

The champ was greeted by many as he returned home to the U.K.

Edwards is the second British fighter in history to win a UFC title.

During the fight, Edwards knocked out Usman with a head kick in the final seconds. Now, he is soaking in his renowned fame.

The fight on Saturday was a rematch from 2015 where Usman won by unanimous decision. On Saturday, it looked like Usman was going to repeat history as he was up on all of the judges’ scorecards heading into the final round, but thanks to Edwards’ coaches, he was able to do what not many thought he could.

Earlier this week, a video was released of Usman after the fight where he spoke to the camera – directed towards Edwards: “See you soon.”

Edwards next plans is to plan a fight in the U.K. UFC President Dana White has implied that a trilogy fight between Edwards and Usman will take place in early 2023 at London’s Wembley Stadium.
