NFL Hall of Famer Ray Lewis in Talks to Make Professional Wrestling Debut

NFL Hall of Famer Ray Lewis is in talks to make his pro wrestling debut with the Real American Freestyle promotion before the end of the year.

Lewis, now 51, has a wrestling background dating back to his time at Kathleen High School in Florida. He captured the Florida Class 4A state championship in 1993 and broke multiple school wrestling records previously held by his father.

Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley is helping organize talks between Lewis and RAF, though an agreement has yet to be finalized and no potential opponent has been announced.

Lewis began his Hall of Fame NFL career in 1996 and spent all 17 seasons with the Baltimore Ravens before retiring in 2013. Considered one of the greatest linebackers in NFL history, Lewis was selected to 13 Pro Bowls, won Defensive Player of the Year twice and helped Baltimore win two Super Bowls. He was named Super Bowl MVP following the Ravens’ victory over the New York Giants in January 2001.
