Ngannou Says Wilder Fight Will Be ‘Soon’
Francis Ngannou (0-2) says that a fight with Deontay Wilder (44-4-1) is “going to be soon.”
Ngannou, a former UFC heavyweight champion, has already boxed twice, losing to both Tyson Fury (October 2023) and Anthony Joshua (March 2024). However, prior to those bouts, he was frequently linked to a fight with Wilder. The Bronze Bomber previously said he’s interested in fighting Ngannou twice, once in the ring and once in the cage.
Ngannou, who rebounded from his loss to Joshua with a win against Renan Fereira in his PFL debut last October, says that the two camps are currently “setting some things up.” Wilder recently returned to winning ways by stopping Tyrell Herndon in June. Before his last win, he suffered four defeats from his last six. Now, the pair are on course to face each other.
“Yes, I [am pursuing it]. We haven’t engaged personally, but it’s gonna be soon. We’re setting some things up, but I keep training. I’m training. I would say [it’s my preferred fight in boxing and in MMA],” Ngannou said
