Ngannou Still Wants The Jon Jones Fight

Francis Ngannou wants a fight with Jon Jones, offering the latter an alternative to the Tom Aspinall fight.

Ngannou made his PFL debut in October, beating Renan Ferreira in the first round. It marked his first MMA fight since beating Ciryl Gane at UFC 270 last year. It was the perfect return to winning ways, having lost two boxing fights on the spin. Defeats to Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua took place before the Ferreira win.

Jones also secured a stoppage win in his last bout after beating Stipe Miocic at UFC 309. Jones has come under fire for not facing Tom Aspinall. Tom is in line for a title shot as he is the current UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion. If Jones does not face Aspinall, Ngannou has offered himself to make a fight instead. PFL CEO Peter Murray has also backed this fight.

“We’re supportive of it. The fighters want the fight, Jon Jones wants the fight, Francis wants the fight, we want the fight, our partners here in Saudi want the fight. It really comes down to does UFC want to step up to it or not? Period,” Murray said
