Nick Diaz Arrested On Domestic Violence Charges
Per a report from MMAJunkie, Nick Diaz has been arrested following an alleged domestic violence incident on May 24th in Las Vegas.
Per a source within the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Nickolas R. Diaz, was arrested and charged with felony domestic battery by strangulation, as well as misdemeanor domestic battery for the alleged incident.
Officer Larry Hadfield of the LVMPD office of public information told MMAjunkie that the alleged victim was female, with the officers were dispatched at the Las Vegas residence around 7:20pm PT.
Per the original report, 12 units were dispatched to the scene, the alleged victim was transported to a local hospital and Diaz was combative with officers during his arrest.
Diaz’s bail was set at $18,000. He remains in custody and cannot post bail until after a court hearing scheduled for Saturday at 9 a.m.
This follows an incident on May 11th where the younger Diaz brother, Nate, allegedly assaulted Clay Guida uring a Combate Americas event, and is currently under investigation by the Sacramento Police.
Diaz, 34, hasn’t fought since Jan. 31, 2015, when he lost to Anderson Silva at UFC 183, a result that was later overturned to a no-contest because Silva tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs and Diaz tested positive for marijuana.
