Nick Diaz To Fight In UFC Again Later This Year, Coach Says

Fans haven’t seen the last of Nick Diaz.

At least that’s what his coach, Cesar Gracie, said on his Instagram on Monday.

“Look for [Nick Diaz] to fight by the end of the year,” Gracie wrote.

Diaz (26-10) returned from a six-year hiatus on September 25, 2021 when he met former rival Robbie Lawler at UFC 266. The older Diaz brother lost via TKO in the third round.

Before that, the 38-year-old hadn’t fought since a loss to Anderson Silva at UFC 183, which was later overturned to a no contest.

At UFC 266, Diaz was non-committal when Joe Rogan asked about his return to the cage. But Gracie seemed to be teasing otherwise.

UFC President Dana White, however, feels that Diaz shouldn’t compete again after his loss to Lawler. He said he feels Diaz might be fighting for the wrong reasons.

Diaz has yet to comment on the rumor. It’s unclear – that if Diaz does return – if he would return at middleweight or welterweight. His contest with Lawler was supposed to be 170 pounds, but the bout was later moved to 185 pounds.
