Nico Ali Walsh Drops Alejandro Ibarra With First-Round Knockout
At 21-years-old, Nico Ali Walsh scored his fourth knockout.
The added win came Saturday night in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he made his hometown debut in front of thousands. He knocked out Alejandro Ibarra in the first round in an undercard fight for Shakur Stevenson vs Oscar Valdez.
There were less than 20 seconds left in the first frame, marking the beginning of the end for Ibarra.
And it happened in almost a flash – Walsh threw a left hook and followed up with a right hand that immediately dropped his opponent to the canvas. Walsh went off into the corner as referee Russell Mora rushed to check Ibarra.
The fight was over, and Walsh added the fifth win of his professional career.

“This is just a testament to all the work I’ve put in. Things like this happen when you put in the effort. I’m bringing my grandfather back to life, and that’s why mom is so excited, because she gets to see her father again and hear her father’s name before me,” he said.
His mother, Rasheda Ali, is the second oldest of Ali’s nine children.
