Nico Ali Walsh Proud To Continue Muhammad Ali’s Legacy After Second Pro Win

Nico Ali Walsh has had a brilliant start to his pro boxing career, racking up his second win via knockout.

Muhammad Ali’s grandson beat James Westley II (1-1) in the third round of a middleweight bout at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

He absorbed a few hard right hands in the opening round, but turned the momentum in his way soon after. In the third round, Westley’s corner stopped the fight seeing enough beating of their fighter.

Walsh was ecstatic to grab a second win, but he knows he has a lot of things to work on.

“I’m happy that my pro debut went the way it did. There’s stuff, of course, I have to work on,” Walsh said.

“I’m blessed that I’m following the legacy of my grandfather. I think everyone who loves my grandfather who’s watching me… I love this legacy that I’m continuing.”

Speaking of boxing legends, Evander Holyfield’s son Evan also featured in the undercard.

Evan knocked out Charles Stanford (6-4, 3 KOs) in the second round to grab his eighth career win. After eating a strong left hook, Stanford was wobbled and seemed in no position to continue.
