Nonito Donaire is set to face Alexandro Santiago for the vacant WBC bantamweight title on July 15th, 2023, as co-feature on the Frank Martin vs Artem Harutyunyan card.
The WBC had originally ordered the fight to take place in February following Naoya Inoue’s move up to super bantamweight to fight Stephen Fulton.
Despite being initially scheduled to fight Jason Moloney, who beat Vincent Astrolabio for the WBO title, Santiago will now face Donaire instead.

The latter has only lost one fight since 2014, when he came up short against Gary Antonio Russell in 2021.
The 41-year-old Donaire, therefore, will have to bring his A-game to beat Santiago.
