Northcutt Signs with ONE Championship

ONE Championship has added another now-former UFC roster member to its recent, attention-drawing signings, as it has struck a deal with the young prospect Sage Northcutt.

Following off the recent news that the UFC opted to part ways with Northcutt, ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong took to Twitter to officially announce the signing.

Northcutt now joins former UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez and former longtime flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson in talents that have recently made splashes by inking deals with ONE. Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate also signed with ONE in an executive position.

Northcutt went 6-2 in the UFC, last competing at UFC Boise in July, scoring a knockout win over Zak Ottow. Northcutt was discovered on the pilot episode of Dana White’s Lookin’ for a Fight program. Northcutt won the UFC president over with his athletic build and ability, karate background and honest, down-to-earth personality.

ESPN’s Ariel Helwani added that Northcutt also received offers from Bellator and Combate Americas and that the UFC had the option to match the offer from ONE but chose not to.
