Nunes Not Happy With UFC 232 Going To California

Although the latest issue surrounding a Jon Jones drug test has forced UFC to move UFC 232 from Las Vegas to California, not all the fighters on the card are exactly on board with the change in location.

Amanda Nunes, who is going to fight Cris Cyborg at UFC 232, was not happy with having to fight in California at The Forum. Nunes went to Twitter to talk about the fact that with her fight taking place in California, she will see her payday reduce due to the state income tax, which is among the highest in the United States. Nevada has no such income tax.

The change in location was due to USADA reporting an atypical result from a drug test from December 9 with the result showing traces of the same long-term M3 metabolite that Jones tested positive back in the summer of 2017.

The rest of the card remains intact so far with Nunes set to fight Cyborg in the main event. The fight will be for Cyborg’s UFC Women’s Featherweight title and a win for Nunes makes her the third fighter, and first woman, in UFC history to hold world titles in two weight classes at the same time.
