Nunes, Spencer Interested In Florida-Bound Bout
There is some uncertainty as to whether future events for the UFC can happen as a result of the coronavirus. One event requires international travel, and two fighters are looking to work around that.
UFC 250 is scheduled to take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil on May 9. The co-main event is Amanda Nunes defending her UFC Flyweight Title against Felicia Spencer. Due to the United States halting travel out of the United States, the card is currently in question. As a result, Spencer (8-1) has an alternative.
The “Feenom” reached out to Nunes (19-4) on Twitter, stating: “@Amanda_Leoa we both live in Florida, let’s get #UFC250 to our back yard. Please don’t leave!”
Nunes has since responded, stating: “Sorry, just seeing this. I’m not going anywhere, girl. I think that’s a great idea. Let’s do this.”

Spencer currently lives in Florida, while Nunes lives and trains there as a member of American Top Team. With events of more than 10+ not allowed, one would think the UFC could pull this off in some way.
There may some issues with this suggestion, thanks to a recent update in law. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has ordered a stay-at-home ruling, making Florida one of the last states to do so. The coronavirus pandemic has started to spread fast in the area following spring break. This is until at least the end of May.
The UFC will be keeping a close on things. If the fight was to still happen, depending on the area, Nunes and Spencer will both be ready.
