Oezdemir-Latifi, Miller-Guida Added To UFC Newark

Two more bouts have been added to the UFC”s return to New Jersey. Jim Miller is set to face off against Clay Guida while Volkan Oezdemir will face Ilir Latifi. The event will take place on August 3rd inside the Prudential Center in Newark.

Miller (30-13, 1NC) returns home, where he fought the majority of his career when he first started fighting. The 35-year-old won his last bout against Jason Gonzalez via submission back in April. Before that, Miller was 1-5 in his last six fights.

The New Jersey native faces Guida (35-18), who has gone 3-3 in his last six fights. He won his last fight against B.J. Penn at UFC 237.

The UFC is bringing back Oezdemir (15-4) v. Latifi (14-6, 1NC), which was supposed to take place this past month in Sweden. Latifi suffered a back injury prior to the fight, forcing him off and Volkan of the card. Volkan is on a three-fight losing streak, last facing Dominick Reyes back in March. He lost that bout via split decision. Latifi is looking to bounce back after losing to Corey Anderson at UFC 232 back in December. Prior to that, he was on a two-fight win streak.

The main event of UFC Newark features a welterweight bout between Colby Covington and Robbie Lawler.
