Officials Set For Wilder-Ruiz II
On Wednesday, the Nevada State Athletic Commission assigned the referees and judges for November 23rd’s battle for the WBC world heavyweight championship.
Per executive director Bob Bennett’s recommendation, Kenny Bayless will be the referee for the sequel to 2018’s fight of the year candidate between Wilder and Ruiz.
Judging the world title affair inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena will be Nevada’s Eric Cheek and Dave Moretti, while New Jersey’s Steve Weisfeld will be on the scorecards.
Wilder has only been to the judges twice in his career, the first being his world title win over Bermane Stiverne in 2015 and his 2018 draw with Tyson Fury inside Staples Center.
Weeks will also officiate the Leo Santa Cruz and Miguel Flores WBA’s vacant ‘super’ championship at 130-pound championship in the card’s co-main event, the judges for that fight will be Nevada’s Tim Cheatham, Connecticut’s Glenn Feldman, and New York’s Julie Lederman.
