Oleksandr Usyk All Set To Play Friendly Football Match For FC Polissya
Heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk is ready to take on a whole new sport.
The undefeated Ukraine native will make an appearance in a friendly football club game for FC Polissya, a Ukrainian second-tier club on Thursday.
Though the practice sessions were not as hard as boxing, the athlete was seen doing a series of drills along with his Polissya lineup before playing the match.
The heavyweight champ shared an electrifying video on Instagram where he can be seen getting ready for the training session in the dressing room. The video also showed him running, exercising a few kick-ups, and doing the heading drill afterward.

Though the boxer was struggling to grasp the ball in the small-sided game, he did well in some of the exercises and made good use of his athleticism.
Usyk is strengthening his bond with the Polissya as the club’s winter training camp is going on. This is a good time because the Persha Liga campaign is also due to get started in March.
Polissya director Volodymyr Zagursky had a few words on the boxer’s future in the game.
“If Usyk strengthens our team, we will offer a professional contract, if not, we will just give them a chance to try his hand at football. What will Usyk’s participation in the tournament look like? These moments are kept secret. Watch the tournament and you will see everything.”
However, it looks like the chances of Usyk to join Zagursky’s team permanently are quite dubious as it would be quite challenging for the boxing maestro.
