Unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) has suggested his retirement timeline is not set in stone, leaving room for his plans to change.
Usyk’s current intention is to fight three more times, beginning with Rico Verhoeven on May 23 in Egypt before two further bouts bring his career to a close. When asked directly if that plan was definitive, he stopped short of committing fully.

Daniel Dubois has re-emerged as a possible target following his stoppage win over Fabio Wardley to become a two-time heavyweight champion as he picked up the WBO belt, however seeing that Usyk already beat Dubois twice, a trilogy is not exactly a fight that would excite the fans. Meanwhile, Tyson Fury (who Usyk also beat twice) remains the name Usyk continues to reference after The Gypsy King called him out for a third fight, however Fury has stated he wants to face Anthony Joshua first.
