Olympic Legend Slams Misfits Boxing And Floyd Mayweather For ‘Disrespecting The Sport’

Former Olympic gold medallist Audley Harrison is not a fan of crossover boxing bouts, and he has made it very clear with his recent comments on boxing legend Floyd Mayweather and Misfits Boxing.

Harrison feels that the sport will continue to lose its grace if fighters enter the ring without proper training.

In an interview with Mega Casino, Harrison explained why he’s got a problem with one specific Misfits event.

“I’m not mad at it, at the end of the day, they are content creators, and they didn’t disrespect the sport of boxing. Jake Paul trained really hard, Tommy Fury trained really hard, and the right guy won,” he said.

“What I am mad about is these Misfits boxing events or Floyd Mayweather’s card; if you’re going to box, commit to it, have a proper trainer and not a pad man, and then I am all for it.”

Misfits, which was founded in 2021, has been the leading promotion behind the rise of influencer boxing. This is largely due to the popularity of the YouTube sensation “KSI” (born: Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji) who is the current CEO of the boxing promotion.

Many big names in combat sports have often taken a dig at the new wave of boxing where former footballers, rapers, and YouTubers have come in and settled their grudges inside the ring.

Even UFC President Dana White has made it clear on numerous occasions that he is not a fan of it.
