ONE Announces Tryout Details For Warrior Series
Continuing its expansion around the world, ONE Championship announced the return of Rich Franklin’s Warrior Series. Via a press release, it was announced tryouts will be held inside Hotel Vischio Amagasaki in Osaka, Japan beginning on March 8.
“Osaka is our first of six tryouts this year, and given the level of talent at our Tokyo tryout, our expectations are high,” ONE Warrior Series CEO Rich Franklin stated. “We are looking to make several additions to the roster with a busy year of recruiting, in both mixed martial arts and super series kickboxing. The ONE Warrior Series pace is increasingly giving more opportunities for athletes to graduate through to ONE Championship.”
To register, applicants must apply at https://www.onefc.com/ows/ and pass initial screening. An email confirmation will be provided shortly after.
Put together and expanded in 2019, ONE Warrior Series is an effort by ONE to travel all over the world in search of the best fighters in martial arts. Locations that will be visited include Japan, South Korea, the United States, Brazil, and India. Some of the talents that join the program have been signed to ONE, including Kickboxing Champion Stamp Fairtex (63-15-5 Muay Thai), who is 4-0 in ONE and Ryuto Sawada (12-5), who is 3-1 with the promotion.
“We picked up several impressive athletes during our last Japan tryout in Tokyo. Akihiro Fujisawa, Kimihiro Eto and Ryuto Sawada have all moved through ONE Warrior Series into ONE Championship with their careers well underway,” Director of ONE Warrior Series Jonathan Fong stated. I believe we have only scratched the surface of the talent pool in Japan, and Osaka will be our opportunity to unearth the next superstar. With tryouts all over the world this year, these athletes will have a chance to test themselves on a global level.”
