One-Armed MMA Fighter Earns First-Round KO Victory
Amateur MMA heavyweight Joshua Rector earned a spectacular first-round finish at a Fight Hard MMA event using just one arm.
His win over Colby Carter broke a four-fight losing streak and earned his first career TKO win.
Rector served in the U.S. Army and was injured in Iraq when his Humvee flipped over, resulting in the turret armor slicing his arm. In 2014, his left forearm was amputated, and he was medically retired from service.
Rector first started training in jiu-jitsu in 2009, and after his amputation, he decided to make a full career out of MMA. He now trains full-time and has accumulated a 5-4 amateur record.
