ONE Championship Signs Deal With Turner

ONE Championship’s United States Expansion has taken another major step, as the Asia based MMA brand has signed with Turner Broadcasting to air their events.

ONE, who distributed their events through Facebook and YouTube have inked a rights deal with the Atlanta based broadcast company (owned by AT&T) for three years and 24 events a year.

The deal begins in 2019, with the first event to air on January 19th on TNT from Jakarta, Indonesia, with shoulder programming coming to TNT and Bleacher Report’s B/R Live, another Turner Sports subsidiary.

ONE has been trying to stake a claim in the United States marketplace with the signings of Eddie Alvarez, Demetrious Johnson, Sage Northcutt and Yoshihiro Akiyama as fighters and former UFC champion Miesha Tate as a vice president.

Per Ariel Helwani, who broke the story: Northcutt is expected to debut Feb. 22nd in Singapore, while Johnson is slated for a March 31st debut in Tokyo. Alvarez is targeting a fight on either Feb. 22nd or March 31st.
