24-year-old Muay Thai competitor Jaosuayai returns to action this Friday on ONE Championship’s ‘The Inner Circle’ card in Bangkok.
Through his hard work on Thailand’s tough Muay Thai circuit, Jaosuayai achieved his goal of competing in ONE, and he recently recounted a time his success even led to him dipping his toes into the entertainment business, with an appearance in a music video for Thai recording artist Phai Phongsathon, who carries a celebrated reputation in Bangkok.
“Looking back, I never dreamed that I’d ever get a foot in the entertainment industry. If I hadn’t gotten the platform to prove myself in ONE, I’m certain this opportunity never would have come my way.
“Before this, I was just an ordinary fighter that nobody really knew.”
“I was approached to star in a music video for Phai Phongsathon, who happens to be my dad’s absolute favorite artist. I didn’t hesitate for a second and accepted the gig immediately.
“On the day of the shoot, my nerves were through the roof because I’d never done anything like this before. But the crew and everyone on set were incredibly welcoming, which made everything run super smooth and hassle-free.”
This Friday, the Thai striker will enter the ring against Chinese kickboxing sensation Pengjie Yuan in an attempt to bounce back from his last outing, in which he suffered a third round TKO loss to Pompetch in March.
ONE: The Inner Circle is a weekly card that typically features fighters battling it out for their chance at a solidified contract with the organization.
