Live from the world-famous Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, ONE Championship continues its ‘Friday Fights’ series of shows with a nine-fight card this week.
Thailand’s Kongklai Sor Sommai will be hoping to bounce back from his loss to Julio Lobo back in May, with a win over Morocco’s Adam Benwarwar in the 145-pound Muay Thai main event. Benwarar is new to ONE Championship, but is already showing extreme promise, registering his first win with the promotion earlier this year with a first-round knockout of Kendu Irving, and will be expected to attempt to put his finishing power on display once again this Friday.
In the co-main event, Scotland’s Gregor Thom is set to face Thailand’s own Khunponnoi Sor Sommai, in what will be the 26-year-old’s biggest test so far in the promotion. Friday will be Thom’s fifth match with ONE so far. Meanwhile, Khunponnoi enters the ONE circle for the 13th time, following his time competing on Thailand’s Mauy Thai circuit of elite stadiums.
